TVR is to leave Britain. The British car maker has confirmed that it's Blackpool factory is to close, with the loss of 250 jobs. Production of their current model range will be moved abroad, to somewhere else in Europe.

Just last month the firm promised workers and customers it would be staying in Britain, tohugh falling demand is believed to have forced Russian owner Nikolai Smolensky to reconsider.

Sources claim demand for the Sagaris, Tamora, Tuscan and T350 sports cars had fallen to just 2 a week.

Already this year, more than 70 staff had been shelved to cut costs.

Transport and General Workers Union officials have described the news as a "bitter blow for Blackpool and an iconic British sports car".
